 Luk Keng Village is a paradise of Hong Kong, which was established by 13 Chan's brothers and their family in the year of 1740.

Since the establishment of the Hakka village, China and the world have being made big changes in the last 270 years.

Many creatures thrive in Hong Kong wetlands

World's smallest dragonfly lives in HK 

The Scarlet Dwarf is the smallest dragonfly in the world, measuring only two centimetres in length. You can find the bright red dragonfly in Luk Keng, the northeastern corner of the New Territories.

 

The Scarlet Dwarf usually lives in weedy margins of ponds and swampy wetland areas, and the wetland in Luk Keng is a dragonflies' wonderland in summer.

鹿頸的英文詞「Luk Keng」的發音，是客家話，或是清朝國語，還是何方言語，各位   尊長、淑女自有見校。資料紀錄顯示，香山客家人孫中山國父致力推翻滿清，建立共和之際，公元1905年，「Luk Keng」已見於香港殖民地政府的文件之中。
